Hi
I was also tested possitive due to vaccination in India. did the skin test and X-ray. I talked to my family Dr.(and couple of my Dr. Freinds.) and they all told me that my body will allways react to this test due to vaccination and if X-ray is fine we do not need any medication. In US all the Dr. has to get the test once a year and those vaccinated in their native country has to get an X-ray to confirm it as the test is allways possitive for them.
I would say Consult another Dr. just to be sure.

It is true that the US will be heading for quite difficult times ahead.
They've just posted a $T1.2 deficit and that is pre-Obama infrastructure program. They may have to deflate the dollar in order to pay it off as the countries that normally buy US treasuries are experiencing their own crunches. The financial bailout has the affect of being a huge wealth transfer from the middle class to the wealthy where there already is growing income inequality. Plus the Iraq war costs muchos dineros. In summary, I am bearish about the US economy, dollar, and future prospects over the next decades. Some economists say that the Bush (Jr.) years cost the economy (If I remember correctly) around T$9. A staggering amount.
Canada has her fiscal house in order if not political house in order. (There will likely be yet another election in the next few months.). Canada has been posting government surpluses provincially and federally in the last decade or so, so Canada is prepared for what will likely be a mild recession. (The belief is that they'll be out of recession 2nd half 2009) Plus the banking system was not allowed to go leverage wonky like down here. So there is no big bailout, and no big financial issues. There are some credit issues but I believe that they are spillover from the US. Canada has buttressed the banks but to place them on an even keel with bailed out US banks. Scotia bank, for example, has rejected the efforts saying they're not needed.
Wages are lower and taxes are higher but if you have a family it may be beneficial because daycare and other child related expenses are subsidized. I think it is 9 or 12 months paid maternity leave, for example.
Job market is pretty tough. Though there is likely more unemployment now in the US due to differences of measurement.

Thanks. I did contact USCIS and they have accepted my request to expidite the cast. It is to be seen if it will actually happen.
My other question is, if my renewal does not come through in-time, since the renewal application is in system, can I continue working after the expiry of my current EAD? Or do I have to quit the job and/or leave the country?

You cannot work with an expired EAD. Legally, you can work from the day when the renewal EAD gets approved. Some employers insist the production of physical EAD to allow us to continue working. Thanks for the advices. I was more worried about any negative issues on my current 485 if I block the payment on my second set of checks. I think USCIS also will be fined if the checks bounce. I called customer support and they told me that the money would not be refundable but you can withdraw your application by writing a letter.
If I do not block my checks my worry is that it might create duplicate cases.

we had a similar issue,
what happens is that when you efile with IRS, They dont have data that your wife had SSN last year, and they have just the ITIN number. thats the reason efile gets rejected. you need to manually file this year and next year it should be OK to efile.
I am not sure which pacakge you are using to Efile, I had similar problem with HR blocks tax cut software.

I know it is overwhelming, when we get email from USCIS about RFE. But be patient it is generally for employment verification, birth certificate, medicals etc. If there is one for spouse it could be for marriage verification.
You need to wait at least 7 days before you should call to check with them. But 7 days is fair time, and 80% (no data backing) of letters are received by then.

Most airline allow one free date change. You might just need to pay processing fee (20-40 bucks) for the change.
But a confirmed return ticket is needed for passengers travelling on visitor visas.

A new immigration enforcement bill that would remove the jobs magnet for illegal immigration is expected to be introduced in the House very soon. The SAVE Act (Secure America with Verification Enforcement) will be sponsored by Rep. Heath Shuler (D-N.C.) and is expected to have bi-partisan support. yes, you can. I did it last summer. the first officer at the border did not know the rule and said we could not enter, then an older officer came and said we could. they let us in with expired visa but approved h-1b extension notice

Hello All, Pardon me if I'm bringing up the question that's already been answered, but couldn't find any answer anywhere in the forum.
I just received my FP notice today but my wife hasn't received any. I'll wait few more days certainly before calling USCIS, but has anybody come across this situation? We had mailed all the applications together at NSC and have Receipt Notices.
Does InfoPass come to any help here?
Please suggest.

I was in the RFE situation as well when I140 Premium (EB3) has been filed.
They asked tax returns of my company for last 2 years. The only thing I want to add to previuos posts, that your lawyer should hurry up with an answer - I remember that in my case i 72 hours to respond have been given. After receiving additional docs, they approved it in 1 or 2 days.

Eb3Retro, Did you sign G-28 initially for your (previous employer's) attorney to represent? if so how did you change the representation?
i have not changed attorney so far, just wanted to retain the same guy until i extend my EAD this time, (which is pending and awaiting results anytime soon) , once this is done, i am going to file G28 and self file AP myself. My attorney charges exorbitant fees for doing this, just for the safety sake, just for ead extn i used him...few more days and i will say thanks for all his services..

But will the remaining time not depend on H1 period left. Example, if first 3 years of H1 used followed by 1 year EAD use then one would still get additional 3 years for H1 without being counted against the cap. But you would still have to do consular notification instead of change of status as there is no status to change once you use EAD.
thats my understanding also. he will get 3 more years (the 1 year on EAD does not count against the H1 limit). he wont be counted against the cap. He will most likely need to leave and re-enter the US (consular notification to get a new H1 stamp) to 'activate' the H1.

I am a Citizen that is petitioning my husband of 5 years. We received a letter in March'08 to be present at an interview in Charlotte, NC. We gathered all of the required documentation to provide. Once there, and called in with the Immigration officer, we began our interview process. She was satisfied with all of the information, and tangible proof, we provided. She asked my husband for his passport in order to stamp his I-551 and that meant we were approved. Unfortunately, my husband's passport had been expired for some time and she could not stamp it. What do we do? He works and it will cause heartache and financial stress if he looses his job as the company has strict rules about what documentation you must present in order to remain employed. Please help. Since we have not received a letter from USCIS and the status is still pending, we are unsure of what we should do at this point. Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

A similiar situation happened with my friend, his green card was in his wallet and his wallet got stolen from his car. Just call USCIS and they will tell you how to apply for a replacement card. If you even want to travel outside the country before you get your replacement card, they will stamp your passport indicating that you have a green card. My friend got his passport stamped and travelled outside the country twice using that stamp. Its not a problem but as usual everything with USCIS costs a lot. So the cost for the replacement cards will be high.

My H1 extension expires on March 08, Have EAD, Work for the same employer who sponsered my GC.
Does my employer has to apply for my H1 extension ? Should I use EAD to work with my same employer (what paper work I have to do ?).
Hypothical question, If I use EAD to work, lets say there is a delay in getting my EAD renewed even though I apply 120 days in advance, should I stop working and start working only after I get my new EAD ??
Some may find these as irrelvant thoughts/questions, but we are in this limbo state and it is better to know.

I agree with PCS. We should keep this as a volunteer organisation and send email newsletter,word of the mouth etc, for fundraising. I am not sure if we should impose a membership fee as this is a volunteer org and also people who want to donate money would do it anyways. Just my thought:D
