My husband and my EAD and AP renewal time is approaching. We were thinking to do it ourselves but we don't know how to do it.
Could you please guide us in self filing?
a) Is there E- renewals? What about photographs for such renewals?
b) What documents are required for renewing?
c) Where can we find information regarding EAD and AP renewals?

To celebrate or not to celebrate is the question. I received this email from my attorney's office:
Congratulations! You and your wife are now Legal Permanent Residents of the United States! It has been confirmed this afternoon your I-485 applications were approved this week and your green cards have been ordered.
However, my online status did not change. My question is : Has USCIS stopped updating online status ? or Is this a mistake on my attorney's side ?
Can I do anything in the next 3 days to confirm what happened to my case ? Suggestions appreciated.
It is going to be a long long long weekend for us.

Yes, ICICI bank do not allow more than 4 part pre-payments in a year. I am not sure if it is a calendar year. You can ask ICICI for the part pre-payment terms. When I inquired, they sent me a PDF file.
I had this issue because I wanted to pay-off my loan to avoid the increasing interest rate. Mine was floating. The officer who sold me the loan gave some misguiding concept "interest rate will go down when the economy is booming". But the reverse happened after I took the loan. I had a floating rate of 7% in Sept 2004. But within a year and half it almost crossed 12.5%.
I will try to find the email that ICICI sent regarding the part pre-payments terms.
Normally when the economy is booming, inflation will go up and central bank will increase the interest rate to contain that. The opposite will happen when the economy is going down

Yes it will be a while before it reaches Jan 03 (my guessestimate about 2 years). I wanted to get some idea on why EB2 got stuck around Jan 03 when it flew past Apr 01 deadline.
Even if EB3 moves slowly now it would in a year will be in mid 2002 or latter. And then in Mid 2003 in two years. which would cover my priority date. However if it got stuck to some other date (like EB2 in Jan 2003) it would be diffrent story.

Also, there is no way that they can reduce the backlog if they end up waiting for the PDs to be current.
I think you missed the point: if no PD is current, then there are no backlogs.
If a case cannot be approved because it exceeds the regulatory requirements, it wont count as a backlogged case. It will sit there, gathering dust, but wont be counted in any of these stats...

Hey Ed - I chickened out on the Abes deal after reading the reviews - sounds like they make you work hard for your discount. If you went for it, let me know the outcome.
So what made you switch?
Well... A friend of mine has a photography business and uses Nikon kit. For a long time I have been impressed by her out of the camera images (color and skin tones), particularly flash shots. She was achieving good looking images with far less processing than me. Her nikon zooms were great wide open too - mine were just OK (on a 20d) I was hoping that Canon would take a hint, & come up with a feature set to compete with the d300. They didnt do it, so I jumped ship!

I'm not sure it will be taken up by AILA -- I was so surprised by the resistance I encountered when I asked a well known attorney with a blog (v. popular with IV members) to submit this question to the AILA committee which reviews topics for liason meetings, and it took several rounds of email and some very severe rhetoric from me to even get him to send it to the committee! I feel it is terrible that our self-professed advocates hesitate even to ASK a question, let alone propose specific reforms...
The deadline for submitting questions is Feb 15 -- so if you are interested, get in touch with your attorneys and send in the question. Maybe numbers will move them.
Can you provide some more information on the AILA liaison meetings? Excuse my ignorance but I have never heard of it before.
Can we ask AILA to support the letter campaign? Specifically, can we ask AILA to push for recapturing 218K unused visas and clarification on how they might be allocated, if recaptured?

Just don't even spend your time on this or any message board. Come to US ASAP and file before 17th August. You can add your wife later.
retrogression!... if dates does not move and your wife were not able to file 485 before they approve your AOS... she will be out of status the day your 485 gets approved if she were to stay in dependent status (H4).. she has 180 days from the date of your approval to file hers.. if that doesn;t happen.. then she will have to leave the country to avoid problems..
I would say file it together.. thats the best..

I am also having same situation as 'TamilSelven's wife. But my H1 visa was expired in Sept 2009 and I didn't work on that. I am on H4 for now and got one offer from another employer.
So my queries are :
- will I get H1 again under COS?
- If yes, how much time will it take to get H1 again?
- Does this process will be like a new H1?
- how much will it cost to my employer with attorney fees?

I 485 � Filed in Jul 2007, Receipt date Jul 02, 2007. Have copy of I 485 receipt.

Since it has been more than 180 days I 485 is pending and I 140 also approved, I joined my client. Now my old employer says he will withdraw my I 140.
I would like to send AC21 job change info to USCIS my self.
Please let me know if any one is in the same situation and filed (informed) AC21 by yourself.
And also advice if anyone used new attorney only for AC21.

It is considered fraud if you go for H1B stamping and you don't have a job. If the consulate gets to know that you don't have your job anymore and you were aware of that fact when you applied for the H1B visa, you could permanently be barred from entering the US.
I would advice against such a move. Try to get a new job and transfer your H1B and then go to India for visa stamping.
In a way you are right but not entirely. It is the responsibility of the sponsoring company (that filed H1 for the person) to pay while he/she is employed with the company. Its does not matter whether he/she has a client project or not. So, as long as the sponsoring company say they are going to pay him he/she is legal.
