Does OWC have reliable ram? Does anyone have experience using it?
I thought about getting some for my G5. I went the cheap route and bought some PNY ram, which i don't suggest using after having it. It caused my G5 to freeze all the time. I'm sure it caused it. I took the PNY ram out and i've never had a problem since then.

My guess - either a defective hard drive or bad PSU. Is the sound louder near the upper left of the machine? This is where the PSU is. My '10 i7 iMac makes a faint buzzing at low brightness when its hot from sustained CPU load. Not obtrusive, though.

What is a good app for a newbie to create a webpage? I want something simple and easy, free would be a plus. I also have a simple knowledge of html.
technical speaking vi from the terminal; which means open up terminal and typing "vi" is the hardest app to work with. however, if you can learn vi which has a fairly high learning curve and be able to create webpages it will assure you that you can use any html editor of your choice without any problems. the down side vi is quite confusing if you never used before. the up side is your'll be able to use any *nix flavored server and be able to create a webpage without the aid of the special software because vi is installed on ever unix severs. however, if you don't need the functionality go with bbedit or subthaedit.

1) I love my MS BT mouse and the only lag I've ever noticed is when you haven't used the mouse for a few mins. when it takes maybe half a sec. to 'wake', no problem. I'd very much recommend mapping the buttons to Expose/dasboard, you'll never go back to either Windows or a single mouse button.
2) BUy RAM elsewhere and fit it yourself, it's a doddle.
3) I'd say the iCurve would be fine and recommend an external keyboard, wired or BT.

After a lot of deciding, I bought and am now using Dreamweaver. It isn't free though. If you qualify for a student/faculty discount it is $99. I am using the book Dreamweaver MX 2004: the Missing Manual (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0596006314/qid=1127826156/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-6951142-5757641?v=glance&s=books&n=507846)
which is helping me a lot. I love the tutorials which you can download from the books website.
I know I haven't given you any thrifty suggestions but I am pretty happy with Dreamweaver and that book. Good luck!
