I can't figure this one out. I successfully jailbroke my 1st gen iPad after using pwnage tool and tetheredboot.

However when I open cydia and do the required updates it asks me to reboot, so I do so but it keeps on going through a boot loop.
I then put it in DFU and do the tetheredboot command in terminal but it fails every time saying:

    Macintosh-6:~ Eddy$ /Users/Eddy/Desktop/tetheredboot/tetheredboot -i/Users/Eddy/Desktop/tetheredboot/iBSS.k48ap.RELEASE.dfu -k/Users/Eddy/Desktop/tetheredboot/kernelcache.release.k48

So then my only option is to restore again through itunes and rejailbreak which means I loose the updates I install. I've done this about 5 times now and it's really pissing me off.

Is snowbreeze more reliable then the method I'm using? If so I may have to boot in bootcamp and try.

I'm not a Mac user but I believe your issue is with libusb If you google on this you'll see it is a common error, I believe you'll also find info on how to correct the issue...

Hope that helps to get you started...

I think the original demonstration in the video was at the TED conference (http://www.ted.com/) a year or two ago...whether these researchers were working on these ideas parallel to Apple or if they were later hired by Apple would be the interesting part, as this technology clearly has wider applications than just the iPhone.

The "right" amount is a bit subjective. WinXP requires 1.5GB of space, but you'll also need room for additional hardware drivers, room for temporary space/virtual memory, and room for games. You'll need to consider how much space your games will need. On my 500GB HDD, I partitioned off 100GB. It's not nearly enough for all the games in my library, but it allows me to have several of them installed while running Win 7.

However, I don't think there's a right answer that anyone other than you can provide. Also, read the Bootcamp message and make sure it supports WinXP. I know the 2011 MBPs do not.

Is there an echo in here? :)

Good point about no official support for XP on current Macs--Win 7 only, if I'm not mistaken. Though, if you google around, it seems possible to get most things working. Would be a little easier, I think, on a desktop than a laptop.

    Happy computing.

were you using it on a tmobile?

If you were using it on at&t you can downgrade it to 1.02 and still do jailbreak and install all your 3rd party apps and use iAsign to activate.

That's not an error, just a warning or message telling you the following: in one of the default R packages called "datasets" there is also a variable called "sleep," and since you're using attach() on a different variable also called sleep, you won't be able to access the sleep variable in the "datasets" package in the same way anymore. When you ask for "sleep," R will use your version.

If you're familiar with namespaces or global variables vs. local variables in any other programming language, it's similar to that. If not, basically, it's telling you there are two things called "sleep," and since you've told R to use yours, the other one is now hidden or "masked."

I'd suggest not using the attach() function, and just accessing variables through the $ operator. Do fp1c$sleep instead, or use data=fp1c if you're using it in a function like lm() or something.

Not sure why you didn't just call Monoprice and ask them, and the product page itself says "does not support audio"

Not sure why you didn't just move along instead of posting a snide comment. I read the product review and saw a variety of answers. I came here to confirm them

I have a Monoprice adapter that DID NOT carry audio, just video to my TV from my i5 2.4 MBP. You have the same generation MBP, albeit a 2.53, so your mac has that ability.

I ended up picking this adapter from Amazon:
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CK8TZ8
This one will carry audio & video. Works perfectly and looks pretty cool too. Not as cheap as monoprice, but does the job.

I read that you have to go to sound in system preferences and change the output to tv once you hook the cord up. Can you confirm that works?

The resolution is set at what the monitors are. I am not sure what you mean by setting it to "the same as the computer"....?

This issue happens regardless of what programs are running. The program you see on the screenshot is Safari, with www.purple.us (the site has an embedded video). But this problem happens when Safari isn't running at all. In fact, it happens when I have quit out of all running apps (aside from Finder, obviously)

I would love it if the cause could be discovered before I do a reinstall.

I just recently purchased the xion audio profile lp player which as a usb connector. I know its not professional level equipment.

I have been dabbling around with it and I have it connected to cd spin doctor. When its time to save the imported audio the following options are presented

    aif/aiff
linear pcm, 8 bit big-endian signed integer
linear pcm, 16 bit big-endian signed integer
linear pcm, 24 bit big-endian signed integer
linear pcm, 32 bit big-endian signed integer

    wav
linear pcm, 8 bit big-endian unsigned integer
linear pcm, 16 bit big-endian signed integer
linear pcm, 24 bit big-endian signed integer
linear pcm, 32 bit big-endian signed integer
linear pcm, 32 bit big-endian floating point
linear pcm, 64 bit big-endian floating point
    u-law 2:1
    a-law 2:1

    apple mpeg4 audio
    aac
    mpeg4 high efficiency aac
    mpeg4 low delay aac
    apple lossless

After being imported the songs will be imported to itunes and played there and on an ipod.

    so my questions are
Is audacity better than cd spin doctor for such a simple project
Is there a way to find out the quality of the audio that comes in on the usb cable from the vinyl player?
What format should the source files be saved in?

    thanks in advance

Go back to the store with an AT&T Wireless phone and press *ID (*43) and hold the phone up to the headphones for 15 sec and it will text message you the name/artist of the song.

Pub quizzes will never be the same again ;)

Didn't see this posted yet, I would hate to be on the Comair plane as it gets whipped around. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the collision of an Airbus A-380 and a smaller plane at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Air France Flight 7, bound for Paris, was taxiing on a runway Monday night when its left wingtip struck the tail of Comair Flight 6293, which had just landed from Boston and was taxiing to its gate at Kennedy, one of the nation's busiest airports.

    There were no injuries.

Both planes were being inspected Tuesday. Pilots and crew will also be interviewed.

Passenger Lawrence Grotts was on board the Air France plane.

"It really felt just like a speedbump or like hitting a pothole -- a jolt -- but it didn't feel right ... like that shouldn't be happening," he said.

The NTSB said it has requested the flight recorders and will review air traffic control tapes and what is known as ground radar data.

The double-deck Airbus A-380 had 495 passengers and 25 crew members on board, Air France said in a statement. The Comair CRJ 700 Regional Jet had 62 passengers and four crew members.

"This incident only caused material damage to the two aircraft," Air France said. The airline said it is assisting the NTSB.

Maxine Lubner, chair of the aviation department at Vaughn College, said communication could have been a problem.

"When the plane, the A-380, was on the taxiway, Alpha, it's under FAA control," she said. "The regional jet may have already been switched to the company's frequency."

Lubner said the Air France pilots should have been able to see the smaller aircraft.

Get the Crucial 1333MHz, as you need that speed definitely for your iMac, and I assume your laptop uses it as well. If your laptop uses the slower speed, it will not work in your iMac

Personally, I let the phone drop to 0% and then recharge it to 100%. You really don't HAVE to, but some recommend it.

When the iPhone reaches 100% charge, it will not accept any more - so, no, it's not bad to keep it plugged in.

are you 100% sure about this?? just asking cuz there are times where i wanna charge my phone but its like 5 min before i wanna go to bed and dont wanna charge it for 8 hours . and its always rumored that leaving your charger on overnight will hurt the battery. thats the last thing i wanna do on an iphone since the battery is non removable

Depends on what you call normal.

    Mathematica 8 (http://www.wolfram.com/mathematica/new-in-8/)

Word processing, iTunes, iLife apps, and even pro apps such as Aperture and Final Cut. Final Cut Pro X will make more use though.
